Walter and Cordelia "Delia" had 5 children: Louis Columbus, Annie Mildred, Marlin Ellwood, Dorothy Maude and Evelyn Barbara Ward.

Walter Ward had 5 brothers: George A, John Milton, Oliver, Elton and Ivan Ward. He also had 3 sisters: Lula Victoria, Lela Belle and Berttie Ward.

Walter C. Ward, 74, of Peoria, Hill County, died in a Temple hospital, Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at Hillsboro at a time to be set. The Rev. F.E. Weller of Whitney will officiate, with interment in Peoria Cemetery.
Born in Bosque County, Ward married Miss Delia Ruth Baker in 1905 and they had resided in Hill County most of the time since. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife: a brother, Oliver Ward of Walnut Springs: a sister, Mrs. Lella White of Denton: two sons, P.C. Ward of Hillsboro and Sgt. Marlin E. Ward of the United States Army in Korea, four daughters, Mrs. Arlie Baker of Hillsboro, Mrs. Ruth French of Dallas, Mrs. L.M. Harris of Fort Worth and Mrs. W.T. Brady of Cleburne: twenty two grandchildren and twelve great-grand children.
