Betsy was born on January 21, 1924 in Stillwell, Ok., the daughter of William and Mary (Patton) Benham. She worked at Burrell's for many years making mainframe computers, retiring in 1990. Betsy enjoyed quilt making, was an avid word searcher and loved gardening, most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She married Howard Langston on July 10, 1979 in Ventura, Ca., he preceded Betsy in death on May 6, 2011. Betsy was also preceded in death by two sons; William Lee Hess and Bobby Hess, one daughter; Cindy Hammons, two brothers and five sisters. She is survived by three sons; Glen Hess of Waldo, Ar., Howard Ray Langston and his wife Denise of Canyon County, Ca., Harold Langston of Greenbriar, Ar., three daughters; Donna Artino of Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca., Marjorie James of Arleta, Ca., Linda Grave and her husband Jim of Lancaster, Ca., twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
