Alma, 82, died peacefully at her daughter's home at Mt. Laurel, NJ, surrounded by her loving family. Alma was born in Tacoma, WA to her parents Henry and Anna Kimball, who immigrated from Russia. Alma graduated from Lincoln High School and was a resident of University Place for over 60 years. Alma met her husband, Richard J. Emm, Sr., who was an officer stationed at Fort Lewis prior to being deployed to the Pacific Theater during WWII. Alma worked for Van de Kamp's Bakery until her retirement. Alma and Richard traveled to Europe, Central America, and Hawaii multiple times. Alma and Richard hosted many neighborhood parties and had many life-long friends of 50+ years. Alma was a founding member of United Church of Christ in University Place. Alma's father made much of the church's woodwork. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Kimball, her brother Donald Kimball, and her sister Dorothy Webb, all of Tacoma. Alma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dr. Carl Hajduk, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Richard Emm, Jr. (Vicki), of Cottonwood, AZ, and her son Stephen (Rosemary) Emm of Tacoma. Alma's grandchildren are Dr. Robin (Church) Hajduk, Todd Hajduk, Veronica Luciani, Jason Emm, Jamie Vanderbie, Stephanie Hickok, David Emm, Megan Emm, and Morgan Emm. Alma had multiple great-grandchildren. In addition, Alma is survived by two very special people who she loved as her own: Mr. And Mrs. Chic and Connie Torrence of Mt. Laurel, NJ.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 5th, 2009 at 1pm at United Church, 3912 Grandview Dr. W., University Place, 98466 (next to Curran's Apple Orchard). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite #300, Marlton, NJ 08053-3101. Alma will be interred at Mountain View Cemetery.
