Jacqueline Snyder Davisson, 76, of Liberty, died suddenly Sunday evening, July 22, 2012.

Jacqueline was born in Argos, Marshall County, IN on July 13th 1936 to Irving Edward and Catherine Kring Snyder and was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School in Plymouth. In 1959, she graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion. She received her Masters of Education from Ball State University, Muncie in 1965. On August, 14, 1955, she was married to John W. Davisson in Plymouth. Jacqueline was an elementary school teacher for 29 years. She was a long time member of the Church of the Nazarene where she served in many capacities. Jackie was also a member of the Order of the Silver Star Salvation Army. She spent many enjoyable hours with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Jackie loved Jesus Christ supremely. One of her greatest interest was Christian Missions and she and her husband made many mission trips around the world. Jackie was an outstanding cook, gardener and was a very organized person. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 56 years; a son: Myron Stephen Davisson and his wife, Bridget; of Liberty their children and spouses; Erin Buechler and Jonathan, Ashley Broering and Beau, Kayla Davisson, Adam Davisson, Hudson, Evan, Emily, and John Couser; and Jacqueline's first great grandchild due in January. A son; Dr. Mark and his wife Dr. Becky Davisson of New Castle their children and spouses; John Lawrence Davisson MD, Andrew Davisson and Kristin, and Emily Davisson, a son; Major Philip Davisson and his wife, Major Sheila; of Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada and their children James, Jaclyn, and Julia Davisson. a daughter Angela Kay Ballinger and her husband John of Liberty their children and spouses: Christopher Ballinger and Sarah, Megan Oberschlake and Billy, and Jessica Ballinger. A daughter Rebecca Hillyer and fiancé, Jeff Walter of Fountain City and her children, Judith Hillyer and her fiancé, Kanishk , Nathaniel, and Billy Hillyer; and Simon Hollyer-Carter; two sisters; Barbara Holem and her husband Jerry of Plymouth; and Donna Stanford, and her husband Gary of Hammond.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, Myron Fredrick Snyder and an infant sister, Judith Lucille Snyder.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Liberty Church of the Nazarene with her son, Major Philip Davisson, officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Harlan Cemetery near Wilkinson. Friends may visit at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, from 3 until 8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
