Mable Conn, age:75 of Decherd, died Sunday, April 4, 2004 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. She was born at home on June 19, 1928 in Suckcreek Mt., the daughter of Larance F. and Addie Bell (Bryant) Conn. She attended the Suckport School, but has been a resident of the Tullahoma-Winchester area since 1943. On August 11,1944, she married E.M. Conn in Rossville, Georgia. This union was blessed with the birth of two children. E. M. preceded her in death on June 12,1999. She attended the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Estill Springs. Mable entered peacefully into eternal rest on April 4, 2004 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Survivors include her son, Curtis (Barbara) Conn of Estill Springs; a daughter, Joyce Ann (Patrick) Wilkie of Athens, Alabama; two sisters, Cora Matlock of Winchester, and Marie Payne of Johnson City; brother, Curtis Essex of Spencer; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and many more who called her "Ma" or "Granny". She was preceded in death by three brothers, Boyd Essex, Shorty Essex, and Raymond Essex, and a sister, Totsie. Service was Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Chapel in Winchester. Interment was in the Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester.
