Francine is my maternal grandmother.
Francine M. Boucher, 73, of Ridge Road, Augusta, passed away on March 3, 2006, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Hamlin Plantation on May 1, 1932, the daughter of O'Neill Ayotte and Martha (Roy) Ayotte.

Mrs. Boucher was a graduate of Van Buren High School. She was a homemaker, ran an antique business and had worked at several other jobs over the years.

She enjoyed playing beano, hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, biking, sewing and dancing. She will be especially remembered for her joie de vivre and her wonderful sense of humor.

Francine was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a former member of Fitzgerald-Cummings Unit 2, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Millie Charest and Jeanette Coe, and her brother, Alphedore Ayotte.

She is survived by her children, Marie Whitney and her partner, Kevin Dearborn, of Naples, Jean Black and her husband, John, of Manchester, Susan Denton and her husband, Mike, of Foxfire Village, N.C., Ray Boucher Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Augusta, and Barbara Barker of Farmingdale; grandchildren, Amy Whitney; Joshua Black and his fiancee, Erika Szady; Jason Black; Amber Braley and her fiance, Aaron Beck; Kristen, Chantel and Brianne Boucher; and Justin and Lauren Barker; great-granddaughter, Ashley Whipple; brothers, Alyre Ayotte and his wife, Antoinette, of Van Buren, Clarence Ayotte of Tilton, N.H., Burt Ayotte and his wife, Jeannine, of Augusta, Dominique Ayotte of Sarasota, Fla., and Danny Ayotte of Augusta; sisters Mona Gagnon and her husband, Dan, of Starks, and Laurie Rodrigue of Port Charlotte, Fla.

Visiting hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church.
