Jack, 86, passed away from the infirmities of old age on August 3, 2012. He was the son of Timothy and Vera (Proctor) Patton.

During WWII he joined the U.S. Navy, flying missions in both the Atlantic and Pacific. After the war he went to work for Consumers Power. He married Phyllis Egan on July 23, 1949, and they just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.

He was the owner of Green Acres Sod Farm and was Easton Township Trustee for 19 years. Jack also volunteered as a driver for the Ionia County Commission on Aging, and was a Life Member of the VFW.

His favorite activities were hunting and fishing. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tim Patton.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Patton of Easton Township, MI; sons, Bruce (Ann) Patton of Manakin-Sabot, VA, Joe (June) Patton of Cedarville, MI, and Bill (Patti) Patton of Easton Township, MI; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, August 6, 2012, with Rev. Thomas Boufford presiding.
