Daughter of John Thornton Provens & Mary Ann Baker.
Married Henry W. Allison, Dec. 6, 1868 in Gallia Co., Ohio by Robert Grandstaff.

Mrs. Henry Allison, aged 90, was burned to death in a fire that destroyed her home on Sandfork in Walnut tp. during the night. She was the mother of Mrs. Frank Eachus of this city, of Arthur, D.P. and Bundy Allison.

Particulars are lacking and it seems doubtful that there is much to be learned about the fire. For Mrs. Allison not only lived alone from choice but had no near neighbors. She was reputed to be quite well-to-do and it is surmised that the pecuniary loss will far exceed the value of the house.

Mrs. Allison was a Provens, a sister to the late Jake Provens.

FIRE VICTIM'S FUNERAL HELD AT BETHESDA

Mrs. Ann Allison, 92, was Oldest Resident of That Community in Walnut Tp

Mrs. Ann Allison, who lost her life in the fire that detroyed her home near Bethesda early Saturday morning, was 92 years old, last October 31 and was the oldest resident of that community. She was the widow of Henry W. Allison.

It is supposed that her clothing was ignited from an open grate fire and the flames thus spread to burn her home. Her body was largely comsumed, it was said.

Although Mrs. Allison was attended by a granddaughter, Mrs. Agnes Williams, she was alone Friday night.

She was a Provens and came to Walnut tp. when a child and spent nearly all her life at Bethesday. She is survived by a large family, representing four generations and including the following children: Mrs. John Gates, Indianapolis; Mrs. Frank Eachus, Gallipolis; B.H. Allison, Northup; a son, Arthur, and a daughter, Mrs. J.J. Maddy, preceded her in death.

Funeral services are being held at Bethesda M.E. Church, having been scheduled to start at 2 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. Clarence Maddy, a grandson. Interment in Bethesda Cemetery by O.E. Elliott.
