Deborah Hobbs Mitten is the daughter of Lewis S. and Priscilla Hobbs. She is buried with her younger sister Venetia Pearl Hobbs Johnson and her husband Benjamin Johnson.

In the Hobbs family bible, Deborah is only entered as Debbie, her family's nickname

Debbie's father, Lewis, had lived in the rural Maryland towns north of Baltimore: Pikesville in 1860's, in the 1870's Randallstown and Townstown, before moving to Baltimore in 1872.

Debbie is the first child born to Lewis and Priscilla Hobbs. They were married in 1870 and lived in Townsontown in 1870 and 1871. In 1872 they moved to Baltimore City, Debbie's brother, Walter, was born in 1874.

Debbie is the first wife of Charles Mitten. After Debbie died in 1902, Charles married Florence Bond in 1904. Please see the Census of 1910
