ALICE MILLER CRAFT, 82, of Glen Wilton, Eagle Rock, died early Monday morning September 13, 2004 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law William "Sonny" and Pat Craft of Iron Gate. She was born in Glen Wilton, Virginia on February 12, 1922 a daughter of the late William A. and Annie Broughman Miller. Mrs. Craft was a homemaker who enjoyed all aspects of gardening and the outdoors. She was a member of the Glen Wilton United Methodist Church. She served in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Glen Wilton Volunteer Fire Department. She was preceded in death by her husband William Lafayette "Bill" Craft in February of 1994.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William L. "Sonny" Craft, Jr. and Pat B. Craft of Iron Gate; two grandchildren, Pam Craft of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Tim Craft of Roanoke; a sister, Mae Shores of Clifton Forge; special friend, Bernard Myers of Covington; a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Roy Miller, Jack Miller, Clarence Miller, and an infant brother and by a sister, Addielade Miller.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with the Rev. Jessie A. Howard and Mr. James David Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery, Botetourt County. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Caldwell, Jerry Dean Caldwell, Danny Byer, Alan Johnson, Timmy Keyser, Delbert Dudding, Danny Bryant and Ray Wright. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of Sonny and Pat Craft, 400 Commerce Avenue, Iron Gate. The family suggests memorial tributes in Mrs. Craft's name be made to the Volunteers of Mountain Regional Hospice, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, Virginia, 24422.
