In the 1920 Taylor County census, Holland Skaggs and his wife, Rebecca J., are family # 205 in the Oak Hill district of the county. Their son, Albert, age 24, and his young wife, Cora, age 16, are living in the household with his parents.

HOLLEN H. SKAGGS - 59
Mr. Holland H. Skaggs, age 59, fell dead in his yard in the Zion neighborhood, Friday evening, April 25. He had been in declining health for some time, but appeared to be as well as usual the day he died. Only six days since the death of Mrs. Skaggs. Mr. Skaggs professed faith in Christ early in life, and united with the Zion church, where he remained a faithful member until death. He was highly esteemed Christian gentleman by the church and community. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves three sons, other relatives and many friends. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Pepper and interment was in the church cemetery.
