Joshua Shane Adams, age 22, of Williamsburg, Kansas, died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident, which also claimed the life of his daughter, Kaitlyn Brooke Adams.

He was born October 8, 1978, at Girard, Kansas to Wayne "Harry" and LeAnna Baker Adams. He lived at Girard and Williamsburg.

He attended Girard High School and graduated with the class of 1997. He was a truck driver for LinDale Grain, in Williamsburg. He was a member of the Bullrider Association. He began bullriding at the age of 14. He was a three-time bullriding champion at Timberlake Ranch. He was also coach for the Williamsburg Babe Ruth baseball team.

He married Sherri Ballard on January 1, 1999, at Williamsburg, Kansas. She survives at the home.

Survivors include his parents, four sons, Christopher McGowin, Matthew McGowin, Nathan McGowin, and Austin McGowin, all of the home, one brother, Truckey W. Adams of Pittsburg, Ks., one sister, Brandi J. Brown of Miller, Mo., grandmother, Edna Adams of Williamsburg, and grandparents, Ronnie and Virginia Baker of Pittsburg.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Kaitlyn Brooke Adams and Aubrey McGowin.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 12 at the Dengel and Son Mortuary at Ottawa, Kansas with the Rev. William Weber officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery at Williamsburg. Mr. Adams will lie in state until the service hour at the mortuary, where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through www.dengelmortuary.com.
