Virginia E. Barnes, 93, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010, at Life Care Center of Pensacola, FL.
A Funeral Mass will be at Holy Savior Catholic Church, Clinton, MS on Friday, August 6, 2010, at 11:00AM preceded by visitation at 10:00AM. A private burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton is assisting with the arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgie "Speck" Barnes; parents, William C. and Zula T. Harmon; and brothers, Clinton E. Harmon and Robert G. Tucker. Her brother Wilson F. Harmon was MIA WWII.

She was born Virginia Elizabeth Harmon on July 6, 1917 in Boaz, KY, and grew up in Sharron, TN. Virginia graduated from Auburn University in 1949 and retired from the US Treasury Dept. in 1981 where she worked for 29 years. During WWII, she served in the US Navy from 1944-1946.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jackson, MS.
Virginia was also a Discalced Secular Carmelite, OCDS. Her name in the Order is "Sister Mary of the Incarnation". She was baptized in September 1953 and confirmed October 1955, received Habit July 1954 OCDS and Profession August 1955.
She was an active member of the Carmelites until her illness.
