Services held Friday, January 2, 2009, Westside Church of God, 1324 West California, Fresno, CA; Rev. Joaquin Hobdy, Officiating.

Mr. Quincy Lee Dickson was born to Merritt Dickson, Sr. and Earlee Hopkins on October 7, 1939 in Idabel, Oklahoma.

Quincy and his father, Merritt Sr., moved to Fresno, California at the age of 5 with his mother, Lula Dickson (Baby Doll), who raised him. He attended Kirk Elementary School and went to Edison High School up until the 10th grade. Mr. Quincy always worked as a young man. It was instilled in him by his father and mother.

To his loved ones and friends, he will be remembered as a friend, loving gentleman, with a warm spirit, a strong force for his family. Quincy was a quiet man with a great sense of humor. No matter of the circumstances, he always raised above the occasions.

In 1974, he met the love of his life, Gloria Helen Maxey. They married on November 10, 1978. The family grew to six beautiful daughters. He always said, "All girls, no boys; that was my luck."

Quincy worked for BFI for 25 years before retiring in 1993. Doing his 25 years of service, he met wonderful people and still has one best friend, Dennis Brewer, who always stuck by his side.

He was known as QD, Mr. Quincy and Rail Head. All of the neighborhood would call him Mr. Quincy. He touched many lives, and had a smile you could see from miles away.

Quincy departed this life on December 24, 2008 and was preceded in death by his father, Merritt Dickson, Sr.; his mother, Lula Dickson; bio mother, Earlee Hopkins; his sister, Danette Dickson; two brothers, Henry Bell and Clyde Hall; daughter, Lisa Inez Dickson.
