Kaitlyn Marie Dante, 17, of Augusta, W.Va., died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, in a vehicle accident on her way to church.
Kaitlyn was born June 29, 1987, in Cumberland, Md., the daughter of Patrick D. and Rhonda N. Hott Dante. She was a senior at Hampshire High School and a member of the Student Council. Also, she was a member of Harmony Show Choir; the Hampshire volleyball, basketball, and softball teams; Pier Helpers; and Augusta Church of Christ. She was a member of HOSA, Romney Rising Stars 4-H Club, and Energy Express. She was Junior Miss Hampshire County in 2003 and a volunteer at Winchester Medical Center. Her friends nicknamed her "Sunshine".
Surviving with her parents are a brother, Ryan P. Dante of Augusta; her maternal grandparents, Arno B. and Dorothy J. Hott of Augusta; and her paternal grandparents, Patrick J. and Louise Dante of Manahawkin, N.J.
