Nathan Curry, 93, of Columbia, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 11:45 p.m. at Summit Manor Health and Rehab.
He was a son of the late George and Lula Cunningham Curry, a member of Egypt Christian Church and a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Harmon Curry in 1939 and by one brother and six sisters, David, Martha, Maude, Claud and Mildred Curry, Nannie Absher and Sara Hammons.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Geneva and Milton Shepherd of Columbia; one brother, Vernon Curry of Columbia; two grandchildren, Valeria and her husband, Mitchell Bault of Cane Valley, Joseph and his wife, Peggy Shepherd of Columbia; one great-grandchild, Daniel Bault. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Martin and Bro. Terry White officiating.
Burial in Cane Valley Cemetery.
Casket bearers were: Mitchell Bault, Joseph Shepherd, Daniel Bault, Jason Curry, Robert Curry and Charles Long.
Honorary casket bearers: Samuel Pelly, Bill Ballou, Gary Curry and J.D. Long.
