Otto served in the Army during WWII, then was a painter and did maintenance for the Spokane Parks Department, retiring as the Maintenance Supervisor. He loved fishing and the outdoors. Siblings include sisters, Sara Sanders, Rocky Ridge, MD; Estella Shriner, Thurmont, MD; Nita Hohn, Hanover, PA, and brother Charles Kreitz, Gettysburg, PA.
