Survived by his second wife, Genie Thoms Bordelon; a daughter, Sally Perkins, Friday Harbor, Washington; an adopted son, Matthew G. Bordelon, Houston, Texas; a brother, Royce Bordelon, Baton Rouge; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was widowed by the love of his life from childhood, Mary Virginia Cunningham Bordelon.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Melville and Retired Teachers Association. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from S.L.I. in Lafayette and his Master's Degree from Colorado State College, Greeley, Colo. He was an active member of the Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church in Opelousas where he taught Sunday School for 39 years. He began his teaching career in Port Barre where he also a well loved coached.
