Last rites were conducted for John Edgar Dillard, 79, of Rt. 7, Box 617P, Canyon Lake, April 29. Rev. Kenneth King conducted the services at Zoeller Funeral Home. Burial was in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Dillard died at his home April 267. He was born Feb. 11, 1901 in Fannin County to Lafeate and Rose (nee Goodwin) Dillard. Dillard married the [sic] Pauline Walker on Dec. 22, 1928, in Lawton, Okla. He was retired from the military and was a member of the Canyon Lake Baptist Church, Canyon Lake Volunteer Fire Department and AARP. Survivors include his wife; sons, Jim Dillard of Dallas and Don Dillard of Valdostga, Ga.; sister, Myrtle McDonald of Dallas; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were A.W. Murray, Robert Johnson, Horace Carter, C.H. Clark, J.T. Anderson and V.M. Day.
