Elbridge Gray was born to John & Rhoda (Andrews) Gray. He married Abigail Lethbridge July 18, 1836 and they settled on Abigail's father's (William Lethbridge) farm.

They had seven children together:
James (1837-1842)
Dexter (1838-1868)
Salina (1844-1860)
Infant (1846-1847)
William (1848-1926)
Rhoda (1853-1853)
Mary (1854-1919)

James, Salina, Infant, and Rhoda all died of Canker Rash (scarlet fever). Dexter would later died young of Rheumatic Fever brought on by complications of inadequately treated Scarlet Fever.
