Additional information was taken from U.S. Census enumeration for 1920 (with parents and siblings in Hartsfield, Colquitt, Georgia;) and from obituary, parts of which are quoted below:

"Carlese Griner Snipes, 99, of Jasper, formerly of Moultrie, died Monday, September 3, 2018.

"Funeral services [were] held 2:00 PM Friday, September 7, 2018 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Fred Evers officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.

"Casketbearers [were] Tommy L. Patton, Dave Bannister, Jonathan Halstead, Spindola Merritt, Darren Bannister and Hamp Connell.

"Born March 24, 1919 in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Judson Griner and Jetta Carr Griner. Mrs. Snipes was a homemaker and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Snipes, CWO-4, United States Air Force (Retired); brothers and sisters, Burma McMullen, Edna Gilpin, Coy Griner, Colin Burt, Billy Griner and Jeanie Jenkins.

"Survivors include[d] her daughter, Carol Snipes [Mrs. Ken] Patton; grandchildren, Dave Bannister, Darren Bannister and Chrissy, Kelly Halstead and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Bo Bannister, Morgan Fournier, Bailey Halstead, Abigail Halstead and Asher Halstead; brother, Everett Griner and Vivian of Moultrie; sister, Delores Griner of Moultrie."
