Mrs. Margaret Wynne, Prominent Atlantian, Died on Monday
Mrs. Margaret Oliva (sic) Borders Wynne, widow of the late Mr. Julius A. Wynne, of Cedartown, Ga., and for the past three years a resident of Atlanta, died Monday morning at 7 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emmie Wynne Ballew, 51 Elmwood avenue. Mrs. Wynne was 73 years old and had been critically ill but about two weeks, although her health had been failing for the past several years. Mrs. Wynne had made her home in Atlanta since the death of her husband, coming here from Cedartown, their home for many years. She was prominent in the affairs of the U.D.C. there, having been elected life historian of the chapter several years ago. She had retained her membership in the First Methodist church, of Cedartown, although she was prominent in the local Methodist churches. She will be buried Tuesday at her old home, the remains being taken by Barclay & Brandon to Cedartown Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock. Services will be conducted here Monday evening at o'clock at the Elmwood avenue residence. Rev. W. T. Hunnicutt, pastor of St. John's Methodist church, will officiate. Mrs. Wynne is survived by two daughters, Mrs. S. H. Stanfield and Mrs. Ballew, of Atlanta, and two sons, Dr. Frank A. Wynne and Walter R. Wynne, both of Dallas, Tex. One sister, Mrs. R. W. Everette, of Rockmart, Ga., and a brother, G. S. Borders of Cedartown, also survive her, along with five grandchildren. They are Mrs. H. H. Mays and Mrs. D. A. McLean of Atlanta; Mrs. Bruce Fuller, of Saluda, N.C.; W. W. Ballew, of Atlanta, and S. H. Stanfield, of Los Angeles, Cal. Mrs. Wynne was a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Stephen A. Borders, one of Cedartown's oldest families.
