PIERPONT — Edward Wesley Diehl, age 64, of Pierpont, Ohio, went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, Sunday, August 14, 2011.

Born Jan. 3, 1947, in Oil City, Pa., he was the son of Edward E. Diehl and Leah B. (Jackson) Diehl.

Edward had been the Pastor of Pierpont Presbyterian Church for the past 11 years. He was rooted in God's Word and stood firm on Biblical Truth. He desired for everyone he met to have a relationship with God. He was a dedicated son, husband, father and papa.

Survivors include his mother, Leah B. (Jackson) Diehl; his wife, Janice L. (Barnhart) Diehl; four children, Edward W. (Lori) Diehl, Nathan W. (Alicia) Diehl, Timothy A. (Tracey) Diehl and Jennifer L. (Charles) White; and grandchildren, Lauren, Joshua, Molly, Grace, Ellen, Lael, Zachariah and Elijah.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward E. Diehl; father-in-law, Lewis W. Barnhart; and mother-in-law, Nancy A. Barnhart.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Stephen R. Long at 8 p.m., Wednesday, immediately following Calling Hours. A private burial will be held on Thursday, August 18th, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg, W.Va., where his father, mother-in-law and father-in-law are buried.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pierpont Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 123, Pierpont, Ohio 44082 or Ashtabula Co. Right to Life, P.O. Box 242, Geneva, Ohio 44041.
