She was a long time member of Vienna Baptist Church and had graduated from Belpre High School. She was a homemaker, a Dental Hygienist for Dr. Hill, and a proof reader for the Parkersburg News and Sentinel.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tina Watson (John) and Debra (Bob) Robinson, both of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Melissa Ann Watson, Allyson Lyn Watson, and Stacey Jo Robinson; a sister, Mable Broadwater of Vienna; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Spies; brothers, Paul Garrett and Ora Garrett Jr.; and sisters, Velva Adams and Wilma Riffle.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Leavitt Funeral Home Parkersburg with Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg.
