My Life's Destiny
She was born just as the new buds were soon to be on their way, Bringing renewed curiosity, excitement, and happiness to so many.
Becoming a newborn native to the Great Northwest appeared to say, I'm the answer to your fantasy of living & loving in this Land of Plenty.
Yes, she was the first precious gift of lifelong dreams coming true, During the beginning of Summer of my own personal life's journey.
My life's dream companion was just seeing her Spring nearly through, But still keenly aware of how our shared Gift would be like a gurney, Sent to keep us both calm and relaxed as we traveled future roads; Bringing us laughter, pride, and yes, even some fear whenever danger Seemed to be imminent as some of the common infant disease loads Would appear suddenly, in spite of all efforts to keep a sterile Manger. She became my daily companion on my routine afternoon Jogs, Keeping me oblivious to the extra effort needed to push her cart. Special pride became quite evident as I made the entries in my logs Of how easy the day's run seemed to be due to the love in my heart.
Ah, but the days rushed quickly by and she finally grew to realize That it was time to leave the Cart, not because she didn't truly enjoy The daily rides; but she was growing to the point that her size Was requiring the end of the daily rides in the Jogging Cart Toy.
Her fondness of the Outdoors grew stronger as the days rushed by And suddenly the Teen years appeared along with her wish for a Horse. This was Dad's chance to make some points, so he decided to try To bring her some happiness with a special 13th birthday, of course. The smile on her face that day is engraved in the depths of my brain For me to cherish forever as only one of many precious bits of time We shared together as we traveled on that Fast, Time limited Train.
With each passing day, each new experience just seemed to Mime How wonderful life was, thus whenever news that the end was near Came, it took us all by surprise, shredding our lives into tiny shards Nearly impossible to bear, knowing we would now have to live in fear.
Past days of happiness and joy seemed to fade with this deck of cards. Looking back on the past 17 years brings joy and sadness to my heart. Time went much too quickly as we traveled along life's winding path Enjoying the happy times together, remembering rides in the Jog Cart, Along with Birthdays, Holidays, Trips, and even the South's Sun bath.
The Sadness settles in now, knowing my Destiny is only in my Heart.
