FLOYD M. LEACH

Floyd M. Leach, age 90, went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Saturday, August 4, 2012.

He was born April 14, 1922 to Gilbert R. and Vada (Morris) Leach in Phelan, Texas. He married Nell Ruth Bullock on May 4, 1942 in Colorado City, Tx.

He joined the U.S. Army Air Force on Oct. 19, 1942, and was shipped out to India where he was attached to the 333rd Airdrome Squadron. He was in aircraft maintenance during the war. After the war he came home and attended Texas Tech under the GI Bill, where he earned a degree in accounting.

He was for many years, a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher in the First Baptist Church of Roscoe TX, and after moving to Odessa, he and his wife Nell were active members of Chapel Hill Baptist Church. His strong and resolute faith in the Lord will be missed by his family and friends.

Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Nell, his parents, a daughter in law Margie Leach, three brothers Woodrow, Dennis, and Charles, and a sister, Melba.

He is survived by his son Morris Leach and his wife, Tana, of Odessa; his daughters Karen Bechard and her husband, Paul, of Cohoes N.Y., Janice Herrera and her husband, Carlos, of Odessa; and two brothers, Wendell, and his wife, Cathy, of McKinney, TX, and Ken and his wife Karen, of Benbrook TX. Three grandchildren, Marcy Dyer and her husband Dennis, of Odessa; Heather Escobedo and her husband Alex, of Midland TX; and Aimee Dumas and her husband Michael, of Cohoes N.Y.; Four great grandchildren Eric Dyer, Kristen Galindo, Joseph Dumas, and Devon Escobedo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Floyd's family would like to thank Compass Hospice and the employees of Sienna nursing home for their wonderful care during the last days.

In lieu of flowers the family would prefer any donations be given to Floyd's church, Chapel Hill, or to your favorite charity .

There will be a family visitation from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Wednesday August 8th, 2012, at Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00a.m. on Thursday, August 9th, 2012, at Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home, followed graveside rites at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
