Claude A. Rennau, the son of Henry and Lillie Hymer Rennau, was born at Holdrege, Nebraska on October 5, 1893. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on December 6, 1979 at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 1 day.

As a small boy the family moved to Crawford, Nebraska and later to Alliance where he received his education and graduated from the Alliance High School.

During World War I he served with the United States Army in the European Theater of Operations.

In 1926 he came to Aurora where he operated the tire shop for the Sandin Auto Company and later was employed by the C.A. Newman Motor Co. During World War II he was employed in the Cornhusker Ordnance Depot in Grand Island. He then served the City of Aurora as water commissioner for 20 years. He retired in 1962.

On September 12, 1929 he was united in marriage to Susie Salmon at Minden, Nebraska. Two children were born to them. The Rennau's have spent all their wedded life in Aurora.

Claude was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was a Past Master and Past Secretary of the Aurora Lodge No. 62, A.F. & A.M. Past Grand High Priest of the Royal Arch Mason's in Nebraska; the Lester S. Harter Post No. 42 American Legion and the World War I Barracks.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six members of his immediate family.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Susie; one daughter Norma Anderson of Lincoln; one son Wayne Rennau of Alda, Nebraska; one brother, Wayne Rennau of Crawford, Nebraska; one sister, Mrs. Fern Veroman of Spearfish, South Dakota; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and many close friends.
