Died of injuries received in an automobile accident. S/O Russell and Mary (Albright) Zinn. He was a 1973 graduate of Wichita East High School, where he was co-valedictorian of his class and a member of the Wichita East football team. He received a B.A. Degree in history from Stanford University in 1977 and was a 1982 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law. Following graduation from law school, he worked first as a research attorney for the Kansas Court of Appeals, then for two years, he was Director of the Appellate Defender Project at the University of Kansas School of Law. Since then, he was a practicing attorney and Deputy Appellate Defender of the Appellate Defender's Office, where he worked in association with the Kansas Death Penalty Defense Unit. He was a past member of the Kaw Valley Soccer Association Board of Directors and continued to be active in the association.
