  • Addison was a lifelong musician. While a young teenager, he played in a small band with his father, Dan Reid, weekly in a live broadcast from the WBCM radio station studios. He then formed his own 'Big Band' orchestra and toured the Midwest throughout the 1930s and 1940s; including at the 1934 Chicago World's Fair. As orchestra leader he arranged, conducted and often wrote music for his band.
  • Addison had 3 children with his wife Dorothy, whom he married on April 3 1945. She passed away in 1987. His oldest son from a previous marriage, SA Ross Addison Reid, perished in a plane crash on May 22, 1962. Addison's musical legacy, sense of humor, and his inimitable spirit live on in his surviving children and their children.
