Emil LePlat, who had operated a fruit ranch and vineyards at Sandoval, N.M., for 27 years, died late Sunday afternoon at the age of 65.
He was born in France and came to New Mexico when he was a young man.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
The French Mortuary will announce funeral arrangements.

Emile was the husband of Marie "Rose" Lermusiaux. Rose died March 20, 1981 in Colorado.
He was the father of Emile Lermusiaux LePlat, husband of Domatilda "Tillie" Martinez, August Leplat, husband of Ella May Thayne, Rose Leplat, wife of Emilio Alary, Jr., and Louis Leplat.
