Ralph "Bud" Buddy Mulkey, 85, died Aug. 7, 2012, at his residence.

He was a native of Gastonia, son of the late Fred and Fannie Hampton Mulkey.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Loray Baptist Church with the Rev. Kent Cranford, the Rev. Randall E. Phillips and Pastor John H. Stanley of-ficiating.

The WWII Last Man Club will be serving as honorary pallbearers.

Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park with full Military Rites provided by The Gaston County Honor Guard followed by full Masonic Rites.

Ralph was a former truck driver with Akers Motor Line and Roadway Express with over 40 years of combined service. He was a steward and recording secretary of Teamsters Local Union # 71 of Charlotte, member of Loray Baptist Church, WWII U S Army veteran, life member and past master of Hol-land Memorial Masonic Lodge # 668 in Gastonia, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Charlotte Scottish Rite Bodies, member of the Oasis Shrine Temple in Charlotte, serving as Ambassador, member of the Gaston County Shrine Club, member of Gastonia York Rite Bodies where he was a KYCH and Past High Priest of Gastonia Chapter # 66, R.A.M., Past Illustrious Master of Gastonia Council # 15 R.&S.M., Past Commander of Gastonia Com-mandery # 28, K.T., a Knight of the York Cross of Honor, member of the Loraine Chapter # 169 Order of the Eastern Star of Gastonia, member of the WWII Last Man Club.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jean Ogle Mulkey; daughters, Vicki Mulkey Queen and husband Rick of Gastonia, Annetta Mulkey Henderson and husband Al of Waxhaw; grandchildren, Stephanie Q. Denton, Brooke Queen, Brad Mulkey, Heith Jenkins; eight great-grandchildren and sister, Edith Byrd of Gastonia .

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Ralph Buddy Mulkey Jr. and Jerry Wayne Mulkey; one brother and three sisters.
