Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM at McNett Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at the First Church of the Nazarene in Andrews. Rev. Bill Perhealth, Rev. Bryan Johnson and Leslie Gross will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Bill was born September 12, 1937 in Bomerton, Texas to Furman and Ruth Akridge. He served in the US Army from 1958-1959. He moved to Andrews in 2005 from Frankston, Texas.
Bill Loved to sing and karaoke. After moving to Andrews to be with his sister Hellen, he became involved in church and never wanted to miss a service, even with his poor heath and being confined to a wheelchair, he found the strength to make it to church. He loved baseball and coached Little League, and he enjoyed just about all sports. He loved people and never met a stranger. He really loved his grandchildren. Bill was a cowboy at heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tony Ramson Akridge; Brother Jerry Morgan; sisters Charlene Evans and Billie Jo Taylor.
He is survived by his daughter Vickie Perry of Andrews; sons, Gerald Railsback of Ft. Worth, Texas; Carl Ray Railsback of Big Spring, Texas; sister Hellen Williams of Andrews several nieces and nephews; Six grandchildren and six great- grandchildren
