Chester C. Moore is the son of Albert Columbus Moore and Emma Belle McCord. Albert and Emma Belle McCord never married, she married Joseph L. Bean whose descendants used the surname Bane. Chester was raised by Emma and Joseph Bean/Bane. See the 1920 and 1930 Census in Jakes Run, West Virginia. Chester is listed as Joseph Bane's step-son in his obit below.

JOSEPH L. BANE

Joseph L. Bane, 70 of Cassville died Saturday in Preston Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Bane was a retired coal miner and belonged to UMW Local 184 of Cassville. He was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are his wife, Emma McCord Bane; five sons, Willis of Cassville, Francis of Jere, Junior of Jakes Run, Allen of Cassville and Lewis of Cassville; one step-son, Chester Moore of Jere; one step-daughter, Mrs. Lillian Varner of Mooresville; four brothers, David Bane of New Conerstown, Ohio; Peter of Cassville, Huey of Jere and James of Mooresville; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Tennant of New Conerstown, Ohio, Mrs. Brusie Simpson of Wana and Mrs. Pearl Riffle of Morgantown, and 11 grandchildren.
