MACKINAW - The funeral of Thelma I. Hovar, 77, of 101 E. MacArthur Ave., Bloomington, formerly of Mackinaw, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Haensel Funeral Home, Mackinaw, the Rev. David Bielby officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, rural Morton. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She died at 7:12 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 3, 2002) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
She was born March 16, 1924, at Foosland, the daughter of Leslie H. and Lydia Dale Collins Warman. She married Elmer Hovar on Nov. 26, 1949, at Deer Creek. He died March 21, 1991, at Mackinaw.
Survivors include one son, Virgil (Rebecca) Hovar, Bloomington; one daughter, Patricia (Vern) Dunn, Bloomington; one brother, Homer L. Warman, Peoria; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Clyde, one grandson and one great-grandson.
She was a sales representative for Tupperware for more than 45 years.
She was a member of Vineyard Christian Fellowship, Bloomington, and the American Legion Auxiliary of Deer Creek.
