John Douglas married Eliza Mary Welk in 1851 and was found living in Fairfield Twp Columbiana Ohio as late as 1900 census.

Per obit burial grandview.. Death certificate states burial Columbiana, however not indexed in cemetery book. May be in a family plot unmarked grave.

He is the son of John Douglas b 1793 and Jemimah Moore.

Per 1860 census, this or another John Douglas age 66 had a wife Jemima (Moore) Douglas age 64 and was living in house of Pvt John Deemer and his wife Martha LNU. (buried in Columbiana Cemetery, Columbiana Ohio) There may be a family connection.

John Douglas, aged 84, formerly of Columbiana. died Thursday at the home of his son-in-law, Solomon Key-ser, of Salem. The cause of his death is given as dropsy, combined with the infirmities of old age. of He is survived by three sons and two daughters, David Douglas, Marion; George and William Douglas, of Columbiana; Mrs. Rebecca Walton, of Leetonia, and Mrs. Mary Kyser, of Salem. One sister; Mrs. Hanna Dug-an, of Leetonia, survives. Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
