dies at the age of 97
Mrs. Clarissa Ann Hadley, 97, 803 No. 11th St., died Wednesday at her home. Born Sept. 18, 1865, in Decator County, Iowa, near Ames, she moved to this community in 1874.
Mrs. Hadley was a member ol the Church of the Brethren of Holmesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Elmer Hadley.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. A. C. (Pearl) Bryant, Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. Henry (Elsie) Jansen and Mrs. Goldie Scott, of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. David D. (Mary) Clark, Ft. Collins, Colo., and Mrs. E. C. (Thelma) Perkins, Glendale, Calif.; and two sons, F. V. (Mike) Hadley, Lincoln, and Hubert J. Hadley, Star, Idaho.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. from the Church of the Brethren, Holmesville, with the Rev. John Ditmars officiating. Interment will be in the Brethren Cemetery, Holmesville. Harman Mortuary in charge.

Clarissa Ann was the daughter of Thomas Dickson Brown b. 2/4/1831 Indiana, d. 3/7/1867 Decatur Co., Iowa,
and
Susanah Heaston [Brown] b. 6/3/1837 Bloomington, Monroe, Indiana, d. 10/2/1902 Gage Co., Nebraska.
From her Brown side, Clarissa Ann is a direct descendant (8th great granddaughter) of Stephen Bachiler (A very popular figure in history).
