Josie Knapke
Josie A. Knapke, 66, 419 W. Main St., Coldwater, died at 2:10 a.m. April 25, 2001 at her residence.
She was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Lawrence and Leafa (Staudt) Marchal. On May 6, 1961, she married Robert Knapke, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Larry and Martha of Celina, and Bruce and Vicki of Glen Rock, Pa.; a son, Doug of Coldwater; three daughters and their husbands, Cindy and Mike Shaffer, Celina, Kris and Allen Wenger, Mountain Home, Idaho, and Joan and Mike Roll, St. Henry; a stepsister and her husband, Mildred and Lester Kinninger, Sidney; three stepsisters, Loretta Schulze, Sidney, Esther Smith and Viola Sitzman, both of Dayton; two stepbrothers and their wives, Robert and Evelyn Geise, and Charles and Ruth Geise, all of Coldwater; three brothers-in-law and their wives, Jerry and Marlene of Coldwater, Jim and Ruth of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Ed and Toni of Fort Myers, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Louis Braun, St. Henry; a sister-in-law and her husband, Mary Lou and Walter Fortener, Coldwater; a stepbrother-in-law, Wilbur Thobe, Minster; a stepsister-in-law, Butch Geise, Coldwater; and 20 grandchildren.
Deceased are his stepfather, Henry Geise, a brother, Harold, two sisters, Mary Jane and Velma, stepbrother, Elmer Geise, Stepsister, Martha Thobe, and a stepsister-in-law, Sylvia Braun.
She was retired from Peoples Bank in Coldwater, and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its St. Anns Rosary Altar Sodality, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, both of Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
