June Irwin Meznarich, loving mother and grandmother, of Eau Claire passed away on February 18, 2007.

June, 57, was born January 18, 1950, in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Morris and Doris Irwin. She grew up on a farm south of Cadott, graduating from Cadott High School. June completed nursing programs at Chippewa Valley Vocational College in Eau Claire and Superior Vocational School in Superior. She passed Wisconsin boards to become a licensed practical nurse. Work experiences included nursing at Sacred Heart Hospital and Eau Claire Manor in Eau Claire, Northern Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled in Chippewa Falls, and Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona; and being a receptionist for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in Eau Claire.

Those who knew June will remember her as a caring and loving person, giving of herself for others. Her volunteer work included visiting the elderly, providing nursing care, singing with the Praise Team, helping with Bingo, and being a cantor at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Altoona.

Surviving her are sons, John (Judy) of Fond du Lac, Paul of Waldport, Ore., and Peter (Tonia) of Rosemount, Minn.; daughter, Jodi Meznarich, of La Crosse; grandchildren, David, Emma, and Jacob of Fond du Lac and Samantha, Ashley and Kayley of Rosemount; mother, Doris Irwin, of Augusta; sisters, Diane (Don) Weggen of Stanley, Pat (Jim) Gehrking of Burnsville, Minn., Peg (Todd Post) Irwin of Chippewa Falls, Vickie (Jeff) Iverson of Hattiesburg, Miss.; brothers, Robert (Bette) Irwin of Cadott, Mike (Barb) of Noblesville, Ind., and Tom (Colleen) of Hudson; seven nephews and five nieces; seven grandnieces and nine grandnephews; special friend, Denny Crandall, of Cadott.

Preceding her in death were her brother, Jerry J. Irwin, in 1968; and her father, Morris Irwin, in 2006.

Friends may call Friday, February 23, 2007, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel in Altoona.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona, with the Rev. Norbert Wilger and the Rev. Edmund Klimek officiating. Friends may also call one hour before the service at church. Burial will be in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cadott at a later date.
