James A. "Jay" Coleman, 93, of Alma, AR died Friday, August 10, 2012 in a local hospital.

He was a retired Division Manager for U. S. Tobacco Company, a member of the Alma Church of Christ, served in the United States Army in World War II, and had served on the Alma City Council.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, a son Richard Farris Coleman, two brothers; Billy and Farris Coleman, and his mother; Ida Coleman.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 am Tuesday, August 14th, 2012 in the Alma Church of Christ, with interment to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery, Fort Smith, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

He is survived by two sons; Steve Coleman and his wife Barbie of Broken Arrow, OK, Mike Coleman and his wife Teresa, of Alma, AR, seven grandchildren; Aaron Coleman and his wife Joanie, Andra Loy and her husband Justin, Hollie Dobbs and her husband Paul, Adam Coleman and his wife Amanda, Derick Coleman and his wife Laura, Alex Coleman and his wife Cassidy, and Micaleigh Coleman, twelve great-grandchildren; Jonathan Coleman, David Coleman, Nathan Coleman, Jonas Loy, Hudson Coleman, Anna Loy, Levi Dobbs, Dawson Coleman, Evelyn Loy, Elizabeth Coleman, Ian Coleman Dobbs, Nora Katherine Coleman, and one great-grandchild on the way.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Coleman, Alex Coleman, Adam Coleman, Derick Coleman, Paul Dobbs, and David Goodpasture.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Alma Church of Christ.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, August 13th, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
