He was born on Jan. 2, 1936, in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Anita
(Groelle) Boeckman. Richard was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with
the class of 1955. On July 3, 1961, he married Ann Fitzhugh in Manitowoc.
Following graduation from high school, Richard began his employment with Bahr
Construction of Manitowoc until 1966.
He then purchased Late's Bar-B-Q in Manitowoc and owned and operated the
restaurant until he sold the business and retired in February 2000. Richard was
a member of the Travelers Protection Association and was a 40-year member of the
Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 706.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care
Center, Manitowoc, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009. Officiating at the
service will be the Rev. Daniel Felton, with burial to follow at Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and
Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, on Wednesday morning, April 1, 2009, from 9
a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of
Aurora Visiting Nurses Association and the nurses and staff of Aurora Medical
Center for their compassionate care given to Richard and his family.
