LEON J. CRECHARD
Leo (Swede) Crechard, 69, of 809 N. Fifth St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday at home
of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at
10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Claude LeClair will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Crechard was born March 31, 1899, at Porrentury, Switzerland, son of the late
Leon Jr. and Mary Jolidan Crechard. He came to the United States and settled at
Rockwood in 1923. He married Julia Kochan May 15, 1982, at St. Ann Catholic Church,
Francis Creek, and the couple made their home at Manitowoc. He was employed 33
years by the Dick Bros. Bakery, was custodian for Sacred Heart parish until 1964,
and presently was parking attendant at the Manitowoc Motor Hotel. He was a member
of the Holy Name Society and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 706.
Survivors include the wife; a son, Francis, of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Paul
(Patricia) Mandel, of Appleton; two sisters residing in Switzerland, and 11 grand-
children. A son and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home where at 8 o'clock this Wednesday evening the
Rosary will be recited.
