Mrs. Henry (Elda L.) Eberhardt, age 74, of 2911 Cty. Trk. Hwy. CR, Manitowoc,
died early Friday morning, January 20, 1995, at Holy Family Memorial Medical
Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 23, 1995, at First
German Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Arno Wolfgramm and Rev. Bruce Bitter
will officiate with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born December 7, 1920, in the town of Cato, Manitowoc County, daughter
of the late Almer and Elma Thompson Halverson. She attended Valders High School
graduating in 1938. She then became a Registered Nurse graduating from Norwegian
American Hospital School of Nursing Chicago Ill. 1942. In August of 1943, she
joined the United States Army Nurse Corps as First Lieutenant. She served in Army
Hospitals in the United States and 18 months in hospitals in England and France
during World War II returning to the United States in September 1945. She was
employed as a registered nurse at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc
for 12 years and also the Manitowoc Health Care Center until her retirement in
1973. She married Henry A. Eberhardt on June 14, 1947, at Gjerpen Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc County. She was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Henry; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James
Eberhardt, Manitowoc, Ronald and Corinna Eberhardt, Manitowoc; one daughter, Miss
Carol Eberhardt, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law, Esther Halverson, Cato; one brother-
in-law, Kenneth Busse, Kiel; one grand-daughter, Virginia; nieces, nephews, along
with other relatives and friends surviving. She was preceded in death by three
sisters, Mrs. Charles (Marie) Kulnick, Mrs. Harry (Elaine) Eberhardt and Mrs.
Kenneth (Florence) Busse and one brother, Herman Halverson.
Friends may call at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday and then
at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Memorials would be appreciated to the American Heart Association or the American
Diabetes Association.
