EMMA E. GROELLE (d. 1946)

Mrs. Louis Groelle, nee Emma Kansier, 73, route 3, Manitowoc, died this morning
at the Holy Family hospital following a short illness. She was born in 1873 and
was a life-long resident of Newton. Feb. 24, 1900, she was married to Louis
Groelle, and they operated a farm in Newton until seven years ago, when their
son Delvin took over the management of the farm.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Salem Ebenezer Reformed
church, Newton, the Rev. K. J. Stuebbe officiating. Burial will take place in
Evergreen. The body may be viewed at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home from
7 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Friday, when it will be taken to the church to
lie in state until time of services.
Survivors include the husband, three daughters, Mrs. Edward Wessa and Mrs.
Mathew DeBruin of Milwaukee, Mrs. Clarence Klusmeyer of Manitowoc; two sons,
Delvin, on the home farm and Louis Jr., of this city, four sisters, Mrs. Mary
Allwardt of Wauwatosa, Mrs. Henry Wilde, Mrs. Mathilda Fricke and Mrs. Ida Meyer
of Manitowoc. Fourteen grandchildren also survive.
