Fredrich H. Haefke, 82, of 1615 S. 24th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning at
Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Edmund Olson will officiate with burial in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Haefke was born Jan. 27, 1894, in the Town of Liberty, son of the late Fredrich
and Marie Schmill Haefke. He attended schools in the Town of Liberty and married
Emma Walter Oct. 6, 1916, at Algoma. Mr. and Mrs. Haefke returned to the Manitowoc
area where they farmed. Mr. Haefke also was a night watchman at Mirro Aluminum Co.,
Manitowoc, from 1950 to 1960, when he retired. In 1958, they moved to Manitowoc to
reside. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, senior Citizen and
Mirro Retirement Club.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Herman, of Rt. 1, Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Robert
(Helen) Hoover, of Saginaw, Mich.; a brother, William Haefke, of Des Plaines, Ill.;
five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded him
in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and at
the church from noon Friday until the time of service. Memorials may be made to St.
Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of American Cancer Society.
