Mrs. Irene P. Hanson, age 78, of 614 Goodwin Road, Manitowoc, died
Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999 at the Northridge Medical Rehabilitation Center,
Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999 at Faith
Lutheran Church, Valders. Rev's. William Timm and Charles Kurtz will
co-officiate, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
The former Irene Pautz was born Nov. 27, 1920 in Manitowoc, daughter of
the late Richard and Elizabeth Herzog Pautz. She grew up in Manitowoc
and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1938. Irene
then attended the Manitowoc Business College. She was married to Walton
"Ole" Hanson on June 28, 1941 in Manitowoc. Mr. Hanson preceded her in
death on Sept. 13, 1968. In the past, Irene worked for the Mirro
Aluminum Co. in the accounting office. She also worked for Travel & Tour
Agency in Milwaukee. From 1979 until 1998 Irene owned and operated Twin
Cities Travelers. Irene was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the
Izaak Walton League of America-Manitowoc Chapter #138.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Judith (Leon) Hansen,
Manitowoc; four grandchildren, Carla (Michael) Jurgens, Manitowoc,
Roderick (Shellie) Hansen, Manitowoc, Marlo (Robert) Kohlmann,
Manitowoc, Jonathan Hansen, Manitowoc; three great-grandchildren,
Heather and Ethan Hansen, Manitowoc, Taylor Jurgens, Manitowoc; Irene's
special friend, Don Ronsman, Two Rivers; two brothers-in-law and one
sister-in-law, Helmer (Virginia) Hanson, Green Bay, Lyle Hanson,
Manitowoc and his special friend Theresa Koutsky; nieces and nephews,
other relatives and friends survive.
She was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Vincent Hanson and one
niece, Dianne Fournier.

Mom was an avid sheepshead player, she loved going on bus tours, feeding
birds and following all conservation issues.
