STANLEY C. HELGESON
Stanley C. Helgeson, 37, of 1812 Whitewater Dr., Manitowoc, died Friday morning
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 11
a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Donald J. Buzanowski
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Helgeson was born Aug. 28, 1937, at Sheboygan, son of Walter and Marie Tuschl
Helgeson. He was graduated from State High School for the Deaf at Delavan in 1957
and resided in Sheboygan County and Clarks Mills prior to moving to Manitowoc in
1970. He married Carol Duprey Kopetsky June 13, 1970, at Clarks Mills. He had been
employed at Imperial Eastman Corp. of Manitowoc the past 10 years. He was a member
of Manitowoc Elks Lodge No. 687, Wisconsin Assn. of the Deaf, International
Catholic Deaf Assn. and present president of Deaf Community of Pope John Inc.
Survivors include his wife, two step-sons, Daniel Kopetsky, a recent graduate of
University of Wisconsin, Madison, and Edward Kopetsky, a student at the University;
two stepdaughters, Mrs. Rodney (Cheryl) Schwab, of Manitowoc and Laurie Kopetsky,
at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Helgeson, of Rt. 1, Cato; two brothers,
Howard, of Rt. 1, Cato, and Allen, of Manitowoc; five sisters, Mrs. Anthony (Joan)
Fessler, of Whitelaw, Mrs. William (Judith) Heinzen, of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, Mrs.
Kenneth (Karen) Schuler, of Rt. 1, Valders, and Miss Lori and Miss Vicki Helgeson,
of Rt. 1, Cato.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, where a wake
service will be held at 8 p.m.
