BURTON H. KATTREH

Mr. Burton H. Kattreh, age 81, of 814 S. 35th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday
morning, Aug. 28, 1999, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999 at Bethany
Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Reverends Bruce McKenny and Robert Kujawski
will officiate, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Kattreh was born Feb. 13, 1918, in the town of Cato, the son of the late
Herman and Gustie Scharbarth Kattreh. Burton was a 1936 graduate of Valders
High School.
On Aug. 24, 1939, he was married to the former Dolores Ann Karbon at Faith
Lutheran Church in Valders. The couple farmed in the town of Cato before moving
to Manitowoc in 1960. Burton was a blacksmith for Manitowoc Shipbuilding for
many years, retiring in 1982. He was secretary-treasurer of Boilermakers Union
Local #443 at Manitowoc Shipbuilding. Burton was a member of Bethany Evangelical
Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores of Manitowoc; three sons and daughters-in-law,
Roger (Charlotte) Kattreh of Manitowoc, James (Gerry) Kattreh of Tampa, Fla., and
Rick (Patty) Kattreh of Manitowoc; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren;
two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Milton Karbon of Manitowoc, Norman
(Jeanette) Karbon of Manitowoc, Marilyn Karbon of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by an infant
brother.
Relatives and friends may call at the Jens Family Funeral Home in Manitowoc on
Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until
the time of services.
