Mrs. Robert Hoffman died in Redwood
Well known village president (sic*) passes away
Redwood--March 31---The death of Mrs. Robert Hoffman, of this place, aged 79 years, occurred at her home Monday.
Mrs. Hoffman, Frances Smith before marriage, was born at Morristown, N.Y., Jan. 1, 1836, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ebenezer Smith. At the age of 9 she came with her parents to the vicinity of Redwood. At the age of 24 she was married to Robert Hoffman. She had resided with her husband on their farm near Redwood until ten years ago, when they moved to Redwood, having retired from farming.
She is survived by her husband Robert Hoffman, of this place; four children, Alton of Redwood, Dell of Rochester, Mrs. Elmetta Hotis and Mrs. Estella Hotis, both of this place; three brothers, George of Redwood, Stephen and William both of California; four sisters, Mrs. Margarette Whitticher (Margaret Whitaker)of Colorado and Miss Harriet Smith, Mrs. Lestina Patterson of California and Mrs. Johanna Flint of Washington. There are also six grandchildren and one great-grandchild who survive.
Funeral services were held March 29, Rev. Krusa of the Lutheran church officiated with burial in Redwood cemetery.
