Lucille A. Powalisz, age 83, of 711 N. 5th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, February 7, 2001, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2001, at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, 1038 S. 8th St., Manitowoc with Rev. Bruce Bitter officiating with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Lucille was born January 8, 1918, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Gustav and Elsie Boetcher Mumpy. She grew up and was educated at Manitowoc. Lucille was an aerialist and perch pole act in the Billy Schultz Circus in the 1930's. She married Gordon J. Powalisz, October 2, 1940, at Manitowoc. They celebrated 60 plus years together. She was a member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid of the Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon J. Powalisz, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Carol Powalisz, Livingston, Mont.; a granddaughter, Brook Powalisz, West Dorsey, Vt.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law include, Genevieve Zannacker, Madison, Hubert Nishan, Ocala, Fla., Irene Powalisz, Manitowoc and Bea Powalisz, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded also by a son, Richard, September 24, 1999, a sister, Delores Mumpy; a brother, Harold Mumpy; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Nishan; three brothers-in-law, John and Ed Powalisz, Gordon Zannacker.
Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State St., Manitowoc from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday and on Monday at First German Ev. Lutheran Chruch from 10 a.m. to the time of service at 11 a.m.
