Mrs. Clarence Stangel, 63, of 1402 N. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon
at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 11
a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo J. Schmitt will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Stangel, nee Marie Augustine, was born Aug. 13, 1911, at Kellnersville,
daughter of the late John and Anne Muench Augustine. She attended St. Joseph
School, Kellnersville, was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, attended
Manitowoc County Teachers College and received her degree from Oshkosh State
University and taught at Cleveland school, Sheboygan. She resided in Manitowoc
all her life. She was a member and past president of Manitowoc County Kennel
Club, Wisconsin Education Assn, Northeast Teachers Assn., and National Teachers
Assn. She was married to Clarence Stangel Aug. 11, 1959, at St. Mary Catholic
Church, Tisch Mills.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence, and aunt, Miss Clara Muench.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, where a memorial
service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
